Sometimes you hear a name of a course, and instantly get an image in your head. When I ran across The Quarry Course in Florida, that is exactly what happened. When I read this ‘This magical stretch of holes, called by writer Dan Jenkins “the best five consecutive holes of golf anywhere in the world”’ that image was reinforced. The pictures did not let me down…
This Tom Fazio course seems to hit all the spots when it comes to outstanding course layout. Dramatic elevation changes, check; intimidating hazards and bunkers, check; take-a-moment-and-just-take-it-in vista’s, double check…
I’ll be in Florida on day 15 (which seems crazy, because it’s about as far from home as I can get on the mainland) and I’m looking forward to playing through rocky and bunkered landscape like this…
