When I was looking at courses in Kansas, I wanted something with a “midwest feel” (although, candidly I wasn’t sure what that would be in a golf course). Until… I stumbled on this overhead view of Buffalo Dunes golf course…
The course is essentially a single crop circle (not the mythical alien kind, but the agricultural “core-of-America” kind). Taking up roughly the same space as one of the surrounding circles, the course gives you a real idea of the scope and size of agriculture in our heartland.
More than a novelty, however, Buffalo Dunes offers plenty of challenging play, a rich golf history and a host of awards including being ranked as the No. 1 municipally-owned golf course in Kansas by Golf Digest magazine.
