I’ve looked at several Jack Nicklaus designed courses over the past few months (and am playing a few of them), but I really loved Vermont National Country Club‘s tag line of “Where Nature meets Nicklaus.” It’s pretty tough not to be inspired to check out that track, and VNCC does not disappoint.
Elevated tee boxes and well placed protective bunkers around the greens (and in the middle of some fairways) are just a few of the attributes of this course. Lined by beautiful countryside, and stately houses, the course emanates the fell of “Vermont” (or at least what I have always imagined it would be).
I’ll be in Vermont on day 30.
