As you may have picked up from other introductions, I like target golf. So reading about University Ridge’s signature 16th hole, “the course opens up again at the 554-yard signature 16th hole, which features three fairways and 16 bunkers” was a great head start on selecting a course in Wisconsin.
The Robert Trent Jr. golf course has its share of awards, including being #3 on the last couple “Best Campus Courses” lists, and looks to be a great play. Further, it has an interesting history (and in this case I mean HISTORY… like Ice Age type history). The course design is integrated into the terminal moraine (the pile of rocks and dirt created in front of a glacier as it moves along) of the Wisconsin Glacier, and the Ice Age trail (one of 8 national National Scenic Trails in the US) runs through part of the course.
University Ridge is also the home of the Wisconsin Badgers, so day 39 will be “Wisconsin” in more ways that one.
Check out all of the introduced courses on our map, or, see all the course introductions in one place.
Also, for a chance to win free swag from one (or more) of these great courses I’m playing, be sure to check out this promotion… Share this (or any other) course introduction and tag Fairways & Freeways (FB: @fairwaysandfreeways T: @fnf2017 ) to be entered. The more of these course introductions you share, the more entries you will have in the drawing. 🙂
