Course Introduction – Old Works

I’ve mentioned before that there are lots of reasons for selecting a course, and I’m trying to use them all at some point during this trip. A major goal is to show some of the diversity of golf in this country. So, while you will see some ocean views, some beautiful elevated greens, and some breathtaking water features, you will also see some relatively “normal” courses as well. which DOES NOT lead me directly to today’s introduction… Old Works. The top three reasons for (me) choosing this course are (not necessarily in order):

  1. During the selection process my wife said it was “the one course” she really wanted us to play (okay, this one actually is in order, the other two are not necessarily so).
  2. Black Sand-traps!
  3. Jack Nicklaus designed course (With history! The video below, while a bit long, is a pretty cool watch).

It also doesn’t hurt that it has a hole called “Crusher.”

.

I won’t be in Montana until day 46 (June!), but I’ll be looking forward to playing this course the whole time!
