Course Introduction – Olympic Course at Gold Mountain Golf Club

As the trip winds down you might expect to become a little “numb” to some typical golf course attributes. Especially on this trip where I’m visiting so many really incredible courses. All of this put a bit of pressure to find a course in Washington that, 47 states in, could still capture the imagination and quicken the pulse. Allow me to introduce the Olympic Course at Gold Mountain Golf Club

Not the longest course in history (although it does stretch to over 7000 from the tips), but it’s just a beauty. I had some trouble trying to figure out the defining feature, until it occurred to me that this course is just good at everything. It has elevation changes and rolling hills through out the course, contouring the fairways. There is plenty of water to navigate and the tree-lined track does not suffer for fantastic views in any direction.

Hole #16, Par 3

No stranger to competitive play the course has hosted numerous prestigious tournaments over the years and appears to represent as much of a challenge as any golfer might want to take on, while still being playable from the front tees for the more casual player. The Olympic Course seems to be just about the perfect send off to the lower 48 as I prepare for Alaska and Hawaii to wrap things up.

Check out all of the introduced courses on our map, or, see all the course introductions in one place.
