Course Introduction – The Lakes at Laura S. Walker Park

Located very close to the Okefenokee Swamp National Wildlife Refuge and Wilderness Area and, as the name would imply, littered with an abundance of water, The Lakes Golf Course at Laura S. Walker Park set up fantastically for me. Those who have noted my affinity for water will know exactly how positively I reacted to seeing this set of holes…

When you thrown in “aligators as hazards” things get really interesting!

One of the things I really appreciated from that video was the idea of a course being challenging to play but easy on the feet. I’m a big fan of elevation change, but I think for people learning the game this is a great mix. In fact The Lakes recently won an award for being the “Hook A Kid On golf” best new site of the year, nationwide. Since it has also been ranked as the top muni in Georgia by Golf Digest, there should be plenty for everyone to enjoy!
